Have you ever walked in Kings Park at night, and truly taken the time to enjoy the smells, the colours, the light, the touch of branches as you walk past a tree?

It sounds a bit naff – but I have the greatest fortune to work (in my third job) in Kings Park, doing box office for Moonlight Cinema.

Not only do I get to see half a movie for free (I miss the first half because I’m sitting in the “cage” waiting for latecomers), but every night I leave the park, and it makes me feel good. The silence is incredible and sometimes so overwhelming it feels tangible.

When I drive out of the park I struggle to keep my eyes on the road – I want to watch the skyline whizz past and enjoy the lightshow.

I’ll miss that when I’m gone.
